Videk was established in 1978 by our founder and CEO Derek Proops who recognised a growing need for a specialist cabling supplier as the era of the personal and business computer was emerging. As the market evolved, competing formats and different designs began to create demand for cabling, adaptors and accessories to bridge the many developing standards.
Videk became known as an expert source of knowledge and as a specialist supplier of cables to the rapidly expanding computer industry.
That's the year we made our very first computer cable.
The year we introduced our first surge protected power trailer socket.
From knocking on doors to selling at computer trade shows and then on to print, Videk extended it's reach across the industry. Our first printed catalogue was produced in 1986 and true to our founding values was weighted heavily towards the sharing of knowledge and information.
As the market continued to grow and the pace at which technology advanced increased we started to produce printed publications with greater frequency. At its peak, the Videk catalogue was being produced at a rate of three editions annually. Such was its distribution that it became known across the industry as "The Videk Bible". A continued bias towards sharing knowledge and information proving to both satisfy as well as stimulate interest in new technologies.

Meet The TeamThe age of information dawned and in 1998, Videk went digital. Videk online allowed us to introduce new products to the market with greater fluidity and our balance of knowledge and commerce became popular as the world turned to a new medium of information, the Internet.
Keeping pace with developments in Networking, Audio & Video, Power and Connectivity systems, our ranges grew to include products of other manufacturers so that we could deliver a complete solution to our customers. The Videk of today remains true to our founding values, placing customer experience at the heart of all that we do whilst bringing new technologies to the market. We continue to develop of our own range of Networking, Audio & Video, Power and Connectivity products to bridge the different types of current technology and deliver innovative solutions for workspace productivity.
We remain passionate about helping customers build a complete solution and continue searching for partnerships with other industries brands to do so.
