The ability to make and maintain connections between different devices has never been possible in so many different ways. This section is dedicated to the cabling and solutions needed to enable these connections.
Dedicated to SATA and IDE cabling and adaptors, the products in this section represents typical cabling used for computer hard drive connections.
IDE ports utilise a 40 pin connector for desktop computers and a 44 pin connector for laptop drive interfaces. Typically this system is arranged as a master and slave drive configuration and cabling typically has connectors designated accordingly.
With speeds of up to 300Mbps possible with SATA the use of IDE has declined and SATA has become the preferred interface for many manufacturers. Internal SATA interfaces consists of a 7 pin data and 15 pin power connector and external SATA applications, known commonly as eSATA, use a 7 pin connector.
